Food Drives

Virtually all non-perishables in the Parker Task Force food bank are donated to us through periodic Saturday Food Drives and from local collections by churches, schools, businesses, social organizations, grocery stores and individual community members.

Hosting a Food Drive – an excellent way to help our neighbors in need

Individuals and groups are invited to host a food drive to collect food and gift card donations to benefit Parker Task Force clients. Dropping off collected donations at Parker Task Force is encouraged and appreciated. Our hours for drop-off are Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 8 AM until 1 PM. Interested in hosting your own food drive to benefit Parker Task Force? Email jeanne@parkertaskforce.org and she’ll be happy to provide additional details and answer questions.

Saturday Food Drive Volunteer

Periodic Saturday Food Drives are conducted outside local King Soopers, Safeway and Walmart stores to make it easy for the community to support Parker Task Force. These Food Drives provide a substantial portion of the groceries that stock Nancy’s Market, our “client choice” food bank. There are two areas of need for volunteers on Food Drive Saturdays – outside local grocery stores and onsite at Parker Task Force.

Outside Grocery Store Volunteer

Volunteers are needed in front of participating grocery stores distributing “Needs Lists” to shoppers as they enter the stores, then collecting donations as shoppers leave. These volunteers work shifts in 2-hour increments, between 8 AM and 4 PM, at specific King Soopers, Walmart and Safeway locations in Parker and Elizabeth.

On-Site at Parker Task Force Volunteer

On-site volunteers help receive and sort donations arriving at Parker Task Force during the Food Drive. This is physical work and requires that volunteers can lift heavy boxes. These volunteers work in 4-hour shifts: 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM or 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
