The Parker Task Force is staffed entirely by volunteers! We currently operate with a staff of over 100 regular volunteers, most serving for an average of eight years. Our weekly and monthly volunteers are the heart of Parker Task Force. Committing to one shift each week, most of our daily team members average from 12 to 20 volunteer hours each month. These volunteers fulfill essential roles assisting clients as Team Leaders, Client Advocates and Shopping Assistants.

The Parker Task Force is staffed entirely by volunteers! We currently operate with a staff of over 100 regular volunteers, most serving for an average of eight years. There are many ways to partner with the Parker Task Force. We are looking for individuals and groups, short-term opportunities and monthly commitments. Below are descriptions of the various opportunities for volunteers to consider. Student Community Service
Students needing community service hours to satisfy graduation requirements are welcome at Parker Task Force. Students may serve as grocery stockers and sorters or be assigned to help with special projects. Shifts are available from 8 am until 1 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Students must be 16 years old to volunteer without an adult supervisor. *Available shifts fill up quickly so please reach out early in the school year.
Court-Ordered Community Service
Court-ordered community service hours may be completed at Parker Task Force. Volunteer shifts are available from 8 am until 1 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Community members must be 16 years old to volunteer without an adult supervisor. It is the volunteer’s responsibility to ensure that any required paperwork is completed. **Approval dependent on the nature of the offense
Group Volunteering
Parker Task Force welcomes families, church groups, businesses and other groups to assist with special projects as they become available. Food Drives are also a good way to volunteer as a group. Please see Food Drive information HERE.
Floating Volunteers
Floating volunteers at the Parker Task Force play a flexible, supportive role that helps keep daily operations running smoothly. Unlike regular volunteers who have assigned shifts and specific duties, floating volunteers step in wherever help is most needed on any given day. This might include receiving food donations, stocking shelves, helping clients, or supporting staff with small but important tasks throughout the day.
This role is ideal for people who want to get a broad, hands-on view of how the organization operates. By moving between different areas, floating volunteers gain insight into the many services the Parker Task Force provides and how each part contributes to the overall mission. For those considering a deeper commitment, floating volunteering offers a low-pressure way to get involved, learn the ropes, and decide if they’d like to take on a more regular or specialized role in the future.
Student Advocate
Parker Task Force is looking for compassionate and dedicated adults to serve as mentors to help graduating high school students pursue education and training that leads to better-paying, high-growth careers. Student Advocates will offer guidance, encouragement, and real-world insight as students navigate their path from high school to the workforce. The time commitment is flexible, an hour or so every couple of months, based on your availability and does not require being on-site at Parker Task Force. No special skills are needed; training will be provided.
